What's so funny about this photo is that the contrasting objects are both made of the same material. The metal lock is obviously newer than the two rings it's holding together. Those rings got a rough and weathered look after years of exposure to the environment, while the lock still has it's smooth, shiny look with only a few scratches. The thing that makes the lid look even more rough is the rust in the right corner of the image. The once smooth and sharp stripes on the metal have been dented and influenced by rust. The only thing that softens this is the green moss filling up these holes. |
